LOOSE WOMEN PRESENTER & FORMER CORONATION STREET ACTRESS SHERRIE HEWSON HAS KINDLY BATTLED THE NERVES ON HIT TV SHOW 'WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE?' RAISING BADLY NEEDED FUNDS TO HELP CONTINUE OUR WORK HERE AT ONLY FOALS & HORSES.
Sherrie took part in one of a series of charity specials along with fellow Loose Women presenter and friend Carol McGiffin. The show was aired on ITV on Tuesday 11 September 2007 and Sherrie was her usual fantastic self as the friends answered their way to raising a substantial sum to be shared between their chosen charities.
Sherrie has a love for horses and ponies and knows that the money donated will go a long way to guaranteeing the future of the sanctuary.

It was around 15 years ago when Sherrie first met the founder of Only Foals & Horses, Olive Lomas, by chance on the set of Coronation Street. Olive was invited to the studios for the filming of the TV show, but unfortunately she was unable to attend due to ill health and so Lisa Wearing and her mother Gillian Egan went instead to represent Olive and the charity.
On hearing the result of Sherrie's success Olive said, "Any small or large donation is most gratefully received and the sum will either help to get us through the winter or will go towards major improvements on the site to encourage more visitors. I was over the moon when I was told Sherrie would be giving her share to us.
Olive went on to say, "About 15 years ago I was invited to the set of Coronation Street to meet the cast by Charles Lawson, who played Jim McDonald on the show. I took one of our ponies, Sonny Boy, with me and we became friends from then. This has never happened before and it is magnificent."
