Dear Friend & Supporter
A Big Thank You for the many kind letters and cards of good wishes and concern which were so very much appreciated. I am pleased to say that I am feeling much better, and whilst my mobility is limited which is most frustrating, however, my involvement with the sanctuary remains unchanged and I do as much as I can, health permitting.
A Most Sincere Thank You to all our wonderful supporters who so generously gave of their time and support for the kind bequests, large & small donations, floral tributes and animal adoptions all of which were so gratefully received.
Equine Friends :
The 140 Horses, Ponies and Donkeys currently enjoying the freedom of fresh air, open spaces and endless fun & frolics with their equine pals, marred only with the inclement weather which they have had to endure, are soon to be brought in for 6 months to be stabled for the Winter in dry, secure and warmer surroundings.
We have over the past few months lost a number of our dear friends namely :
Charlie, Molly, Roger, Nipper, Elsie, and Sophie the goat,- all of whom were painlessly and humanely put to sleep, on the advice of our Vet, to prevent any prolonged pain or discomfort on account of old age or illness, all of them will be missed but never forgotten

Body Shop Volunteers :
Back in August we welcomed a visit from a group of 12 Managers from the Body Shop outlets in Manchester and surrounding area. who had volunteered to spend a day at the sanctuary as their community project working with our staff in the stables, mucking out, feeding, grooming, cleaning and painting, which was carried out with wonderful enthusiasm and hard work.
A Big Thank You for all your efforts and for providing lovely company which contributed to a most enjoyable day. Thank you also to each of the Body Shop Managers who so kindly adopted one of our animals which raised £ 150. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Winter Appeal :
With six very difficult winter months ahead of us and our financial outgoings at their highest, we regrettably need to ask for your help and support.
Our major expenses are: feed, straw, haylage, Hay, cardboard shavings, Vet fees, farrier fees, staff wages and general admin costs all of which puts under tremendous pressure to raise £ 4500 per week to cover the cost of caring for over 140 of our equine friends.
It is to our wonderful supporters that we respectfully turn to for help to get us through this stressful period. We do recognise that these are difficult times for everyone but any help that you can give will be so very much appreciated.
How You Can Help :
- Make a Donation.
- Adopt one of our animals for just £ 15 a year.
- Arrange a standing order from £3 per month.
- Sign a gift aid form for all donations made. at no cost
Thank You For Your Support
Yours sincerely
